The grapes for the Erika Obermeyer Meticulous Sauvignon Blanc 2018 were harvested from a dry land farmed 9 year old vineyard in Groenekloof, Darling planted on deep red Hutton soils. Harvested early morning, crushed and destemmed with 4 hours skin contact, reductive treatment. The wine was fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks to help retain fruit purity and natural acidity. It matured for 8 months on gross lees prior to bottling in October 2018. Bottled at 13%.
Nose: An expressive nose which exudes notes of white flowers, lime, gooseberry and passion fruit interspersed with hints of blackcurrant and fynbos.
Palate: The palate is understated with excellent fruit purity and zesty acidity.
Finish: A very long finish.
