The name Oak Cross comes from the use of both American and French oak in the maturation of this blended malt whisky. Whiskies from three single malt distilleries (Clynelish, Dailuaine and Teaninich) are aged in American oak casks before a portion is placed into hybrid casks featuring heavily toasted new French oak heads for a further six months. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 43%.
Nose: Light, stewed fruit, ginger, spice, toffee apple, stewed fruits.
Palate: Tart fruit, red apples, tannic, honey, tiny hint of Christmas spice.
Finish: Oak, malt, spicy sweetness, milk.
