A vatting of seven Islay malts; Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain and Caol Ila plus a further two distilleries that can't be named by the bottlers (but can be easily inferred). Matured in ex-bourbon casks, nonchillfiltered and bottled at 46%.
Nose: Sweet and earthy nose, with rich peaty smoke, linseed oil, coastal air, grist and iodine.
Palate: A rich, full palate with salt caramels and a big whack of fruity, medicinal peat. Butterscotch provides sweetness, and notes of sticking plasters, digestive biscuit and ginger add complexity and depth.
Finish: Long and smoky, a touch of peat and salt on the tail.
