A single cask release from the Benrinnes distillery in Speyside, by independent bottler Adelphi. Distilled in 2009, matured for 10 years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt and bottled in 2020. Only 589 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.9%.
Nose: Chocolate brownies that have been left in the oven for too long, ginger snaps and a steak peppercorn sauce.
Palate: A massive mouthfeel, great texture with beach bonfire, streaky bacon and old leather.
Finish: A surprisingly savoury finish. Very unusual for the make and region.
