The inspiration for this whisky came from the ships of old, which apparently used Ben Riach as ballast on their journeys from Speyside to the Cape and back. The whisky would have passed from the North Sea, through the Bay of Biscay, across the equator and through the Benguela Current until finally reaching the Cape of Storms. To capture some of that character, the whisky for Cape of Storms was sent from BenRiach then aged for two years near Cape Point.

Official Nose: Honey, vanilla and wild roses with notes peat.
Official Taste: An exciting combination of honey, cocunut, cream and oak wood, floral and berries with hints of smoke, peat and sea brine.
