Released in mid-2007, BenRiach ‘Arumaticus Fumosus’ is part of a limited release range of three 12 year old, heavily peated BenRiachs, first matured in American oak casks and then finished either in sherry, port or dark rum wood. In the case of ‘Arumaticus Fumosus’, the whisky was finished in dark rum barrels from Jamaica. Nonchillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%.
Nose: Peat reek and smokies, moor herbs and heather, followed by a cascade of rum and sultanas.
Palate: Peat, eucalyptus, smokies, wild flowers vanilla with a huge infusion of sultanas and rum.
