Released in 2015, this unpeated 10yo marked a milestone for BenRiach as it was the first core range expression to be created predominantly from whisky distilled after the distillery was acquired in 2004 by Master Blender, Billy Walker, and his two South African partners. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, nonchillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 43%.
Nose: A fresh and lively combination of crisp, green orchard fruits, stem ginger and hints of tangerine and creamy vanilla with a sweet barley back note.
Palate: Warm toasted oak spices flood through green apple skins and dried apricots, ripening to peach and soft banana. Subtle touches of aniseed and lemon zest.
Finish: Warming with sweet chocolate, toffee and honey notes fading away to an earthy with dried fruits.
