Grapes were harvested between 14 and 15 March 2018 from vines planted in 2009. Inoculated with selected yeast strains from the Rhone, France. Primary fermentation in open fermenters with manual punch-downs at 22-28°C for 3 weeks. Pressed directly to 225-litre French oak (12% new) where malolactic fermentation completed naturally. 16 Months barrel matured. A total of 4,617 bottles were produced. Bottled on 27 January 2020 at 13.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: A velvety Syrah with white pepper, raspberry and dried herb aromas.
Palate: Blackcurrant and smoky flavours on the palate.
Finish: Silky tannin structure with a lovely savoury finish.
