Founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher, Ardmore rose from two to four stills in 1955 and then to eight in 1974. Until 2002, they were still heated by naked fire. With a peat rate between 12 and 14 ppm of phenols, it clearly evokes a single malt from the island of Islay in the image of this vintage 2008 which, on the aromatic level, invites us to cut the peat in full field. The same freshly cut peat is spread in blocks throughout the tasting. Much later, the retro-olfaction comes to enrich this particularly evocative table of smoky and ashy notes.
