Following on from the first Peatheart launched in 2017, Batch 2 was released in late 2020. Peatheart is the first permanent, peated expression in the core anCnoc range, and the most smoky release at 40ppm. Despite having the same ppm as Batch 1, slight variations in maturation mean that the second Peatheart bottling offers something a little different, with a more refined smokiness. Matured in a combination of de-charred and re-charred hogsheads, as well as American oak ex-bourbon barrels. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%.

Nose: Understated peat smoke and barbecue balanced by ripe pineapples, pears and a dark, rich tone of baked toffee apples. Subtle vanilla and sparks of fresh lemon rind lend lightness and elegance to the composition.

Palate: Structured and full, with rich smoke in balance with juicy gummy bears and the light, fizzy sweetness of spun sugar.

Finish: Long and growing, distinctly spicy and sweet with a warming, smoky finale.
