Launched in 2001 as part of Diageo's now discontinued Flora & Fauna range. Created in the early 1990s by United Distillers Vintners (what would later become Diageo), this range initially had no name and it was only when famous whisky writer Michael Jackson nicknamed it the 'Flora and Fauna' series (after the bottles’ wildlife themed labels) did it stick. This Strathmill 12yo is currently the only official bottling from the Strathmill distillery in Speyside, more usually known as the producer of the core malt component of the J&B blends. Bottled at 43%.

Nose: Light prickle. A closed nose at full strength. A hint of ‘Café Noir’ biscuits. With water, solvent, sweet and minty at first. Light and creamy, becoming darker. Chocolate-chip, mint ice cream, then Toblerone. Roasted peanuts and their skins. Remains pleasantly clean. Dried parsley and moss.

Palate: Sweet start. Some acidity.

Finish: A medium-length, dry finish. Chocolaty aftertaste.
