Released in 2018, this is the third release in the Legends collection, a Glenmorangie travel retail range. Matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in barriques which previously held Muscat and Sémillon sweet French wines. Cadboll is named after the Cadboll cup, a precious 16th century silver wine cup owned by the MacLeods of Cadboll, who created Glenmorangie House. The finishing barriques were chosen to echo the wines the Cadboll cup may once have held. Bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 1 litre)
Nose: At first, deliciously sweet, yet dry, like freshly toasted brioche. Then light, sweet and lemony scents emerge, followed by a flinty, fresh dryness and the subtle savoury note of roasted sage.
Palate: Smooth, full and rich on the palate, with tastes of freshly baked biscuits, candy and icing sugar, balanced by a dry, crisp, mineral note and Glenmorangie’s signature floral tones.
Finish: Long and complex, with a final suggestion of old-fashioned strawberry and lemon boiled sweets.
