Kevin King Micah 2015 consists of 44% Shiraz, 42% Mouvedre and 14% Barbera. Harvested on 27 March 2013, all the grapes were cold macerated at 14°C for 48 hours. During fermentation, the wine was punched-down regularly to ensure soft tannin and flavour extraction. After fermentation was completed, a basket press was used to separate it from the skins. The wine was then sent to 2nd, 3rd and 4th-fill French oak barrels for 12 months where malolactic fermentation was completed. A total of 1,110 bottles were produced. Bottled at 14.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Notes of prunes and dates. Hints of sweet spice such as liquorice.

Palate: Fruit driven on entry, notes of ripe red fruit and prunes. Mid-palate reveals more elegant spice notes like white pepper.

Finish: Soft tannin with a lovely lingering finish of dates, prunes and cloves.

Kevin King Wines are made from small, specially selected parcels of grapes from South Hill Vineyards, a boutique wine farm in the Elgin Valley of Grabouw. A background in hospitality and property development and a huge passion for wine prompted Kevin and Sandy King to acquire this farm in 2000.
