A limited release from the Bunnahabhain distillery in Islay, bottled by Signatory independent bottlers in their Very Cloudy range. This release is heavily peated whisky from Bunnahabhain, often referred to as Staoisha, which is one of the distillery's water sources used for their peated production. Distilled on 27 September 2013, matured in two hogsheads and bottled on 16 November 2020. Only 810 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Signatory's Very Cloudy range takes its name from the fact that the whiskies are non-chillfiltered but bottled below 46%, which results in the whisky turning cloudy/hazy when the temperature is slightly lowered.
Nose: Fresh grass, smoky, with medicinal oily notes.
Palate: Elegant, the palate reveals botanicals and citrus fruit along with an overly smoky character.
Finish: Long and dry with maritime and salted notes.
