Palate: Custard, ginger, lemon zest and baked apples on the palate.
Finish: A long, smoky finish.
The Ardnahoe distillery, located on the northeast coast (between Caol Ila and Bunnahabhain), was built in 2018 by the Hunter Laing family, who have been independent bottlers and blenders since their founding in 1948. Since becoming operational, Ardnahoe has been the 9th active distillery on the island, but now, since Port Ellen has reopened, it is one of 10. Producing a peated whisky (40ppm), and the only Islay distillery to use wormtubs, the distillery has a capacity of under 1M litres of pure alcohol per year.
