Grapes for the Arendsig Merlot 2020 are harvested from a vineyard located between Langeberg and Riviersonderend mountain range, North facing vineyards, South in the Robertson Wine Valley. Whole-berry spontaneous fermentation with natural yeast and no enzymes. Matured for 11 months in 3,500-litre Foudre and neutral French oak barrels. 8,151 bottles were produced. Bottled at 14%. Nose: Inviting ripe red fruit reminiscent of cherries and raspberries with whiffs of herbal spice and earthy tobacco notes.

Palate: Elegant with concentrated red fruit flavours well integrated with soft sweet spice notes of star anise and cloves. Lovely medium body weight.

Finish: Soft subtle tannins, giving it a velvety long finish with lingering notes of sweet spice.
