Part of Diageo's Special Releases for 2020, a single malt from the Dalwhinnie distillery in the Highlands. Distilled in 1989, matured for 30 years in refill American oak hogsheads and bottled in 2020. A total of 6,978 bottles were produced. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 51.9%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Reserved, dusty and somewhat closed to start with. Sweet and fragrant with moorland scents and dried herbal notes, subtle traces of butterscotch and boiled sweets, and a pencil-box base of new wood.

Palate: Slightly astringent in texture, but sweet overall, with a drying, gradually building peppery-spicy warmth.

Finish: Long and warming.
