Situated on the foothills of Stellenbosch Mountain, Vriesenhof is recognised as one of the great terroirs of South Africa. Ancient river terraces and commanding mountain vistas provide the backdrop to Vriesenhof's vineyards and hillside cellar. Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 was matured for the first 9 months in older (3rd and 4th-fill) French oak and the next 6 months in a combination of new French oak (10%), 2nd-fill French oak (10%) and the balance in 3rd-fill French oak. Residual sugar 2.8g/l. Bottled in January 2023 at 13.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Fruit forward nose with notes of black-currants and blueberries with a subtle whiff of cedar oak.

Palate: Juicy fruit on entry, black-currants, cherries and plums. Mid-palate as more savoury tea leaf characteristics.

Finish: Vibrant with grippy ripe tannins and lingering finish of savoury cedar oak.
