Nose: A spicy citrus note from the grains of paradise and coriander.
Palate: A short liquorice/lavender burst (although they don’t use either) and more citrus.
Finish: An aftertaste of the five freshly picked varieties of Fynbos which subtly linger on the tongue.
Based in Cape Town, Unit 43 is an award-winning craft distillery. The team behind the brand wanted to have a hand in all aspects of the distillery and distilling process, which led to the idea of building all of their equipment themselves, from the still to the bar, and almost all of it was made using recycled metals and materials. Their recipe experimentation spanned two years and over 200 different recipes with wild and wonderful ingredients until finally Unit 43 Gin was born.
