Introduced as a brand in 2006, Templeton Rye 6yo was released in 2016 to mark their 10th anniversary. Distilled in Indiana by MGP (Midwest Grain Products of Indiana), the rye is made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% barley and matured in American oak barrels. Bottled at 45.75%.
MGP, formerly Lawrenceburg Distillers of Indiana, is a distillery that produces spirits for dozens of whisky brands and private labels, however, Templeton broke ground on a distillery in Iowa in 2017 to bring their production in-house and distill their own whiskey.
Nose: Butterscotch, vanilla, spice, cherry and green apple.
Palate: Fruit, toasted oak, mellow, smooth with vibrant mouth.
Finish: Long lingering spice.
